Christians Against Poverty
We host Northampton's CAP Debt Centre — free, confidential debt counselling for anyone in the town.
Mount Pleasant is home to the Northampton CAP Debt Centre. Christians Against Poverty has been running since 1996 and is one of the UK's leading debt counselling charities. The service is free and completely confidential.
You start with a private conversation on the phone. From there, someone from the Northampton centre can visit you at home, so you never have to explain your situation in a waiting room. They will work with your creditors to stop them contacting you, taking the pressure off, and they will work out a budget with you.
Alongside the practical help there is ongoing support for as long as you need it — and, if you would like it, prayer and friendship from the church. Debt is not the end of the story.
