Our leaders

The church is led by a minister working alongside elders and deacons appointed by the church members, with a small staff team who keep the building and its projects running through the week.

Paul Lavender

Senior Minister and Team Leader

Paul is called to serve the church in leadership, to lead the elders and deacons, and has overall responsibility for worship and preaching, vision and strategy, and pastoral care.

Born in Pembroke Dock in Wales in 1969, Paul studied music at Oxford and worked as a pianist and organist before studying theology. He was commissioned as a minister in 1999, joined Mount Pleasant in 2007, and became Senior Pastor in April 2008.

He has been married to Judith since 1995.

Stephanie Muncherji

Church Operations Manager

Stephanie is often your first point of contact when phoning or emailing the church — so if you have a question and don't know who to ask, ask her.

Before joining the staff team she was Administrator for the Association of Christian Teachers, and previously ran her own recruitment business.

The Northampton CAP Debt Centre is run from this building, offering free and confidential debt counselling to anyone in the area.

Jane runs the Northampton CAP Debt Centre from Mount Pleasant, offering free and confidential debt counselling to anyone in the area.
